Our history through the ages
Our guests enjoy an all-round relaxing holiday in Tyrol in the summer and winter at Hotel Tauferberg in Niederthai. Like many others, we also started very modestly and have continuously expanded and improved our business.
Our parents Julie and Ignaz Falkner managed a small farm until 1969 – the Sennhof. They built the Gasthof Tauferberg with 35 beds in 1970. “Finding a home on holiday” was the hotel’s philosophy right from the very start.
Brigitte and Hermann Falkner have been running it since 1985. The Gasthof Tauferberg developed into a hotel with typical Tyrolean flair thanks to major renovations and extensions in 1986, 1991, 1993 and 1994: with cosy rooms and spacious holiday apartments.
Various saunas and a chill-out room have been at your disposal in the spa oasis since the renovation in 2010. The beautiful rooms with separate living room and bedroom and all the comforts are very popular.
The restaurant with 30 additional seats, two small dining rooms and an extended buffet area have been available to our guests since 2011. The hotel kitchen and storage rooms have also been extended. A new children’s and teens’ playroom with lots of games and activities has been created for our young guests.
Our guests have had two other relaxation areas available since 2015 with the new lounge area and extended sun and panoramic terrace.
